Health Care Facilities
As the people at St. Mary's on the Hill Hospital know, the real life emergencies in their care will not stop for an unexpected emergency on their roof. F.J.A Christiansen joined the team at St. Mary's while repairing the roof over the surgical area. They were flexible to the needs of the staff, as well as the patients in surgery. Work on the roof stopped and then started up again within a moment's notice — helping to finish a job productively and safely.

Religious Facilities
Due to the gradual effects of the area's harsh environment, it became necessary to provide for the exterior renovation of Holy Hill National Shrine of Mary. F.J.A. Christiansen Roofing was chosen as the Prime Contractor.

Holy Hill Shrine of Mary sits atop one of the highest points in the state towering some 1350 feet above sea level. Due to the unpredictability of weather and wind conditions, proper scaffolding was critically important. Roof replacement required the removal of the original 80-year old asbestos roof materials. Our sheet metal craftsmen tied in the slate roof through intricate copper details, valleys and flat-seam copper panel roof areas. Because the church is a registered landmark, no changes could be made to the exterior renovation of the building, which required all sheet metal and copper details be recreated to match the original construction.

As Prime Contractor, F.J.A. Christiansen Roofing also coordinated extensive masonry restoration, painting, scaffolding and carpentry contractors.

While many may challenge that today's buildings are no longer created with old world craftsmanship, the entire F.J.A. Christiansen Roofing team has allowed Holy Hill to serve as a testament that old world craftsmanship can certainly be found in the restoration of this historic hilltop.
