ABOUT JD RIVERS CHILDREN’S PARK
Each growing season the one-acre JD Rivers Children’s Garden, located in the Theodore Wirth Park in North Minneapolis hosts gardening programs and environmental education for youth, where they are able to plant, water, weed, harvest and sample garden produce. Youth also engage in hands-on learning focused on the surrounding natural environment of prairies, woodland and Bassett’s Creek. This year the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is celebrating the Garden’s 25th birthday.
