When
Frederick Julius Andreas Christiansen founded the
company in 1879, he insisted upon the highest standards
of workmanship, service, and quality.
Like other general
contractors of that era, FJA Christiansen was responsible
for the completion of entire construction projects.
As the need for more specialized capabilities grew,
the company decided to focus exclusively on roofing,
which remains our focus today.
F.J.A. took great pride in his work and instilled
a sense of superior quality and service throughout
his company, that has continued through three generations
of family-ownership.
Today, more than
100 years later, F.J.A Christiansen has become one
of the largest roofing contractors in the Midwest
- thanks to Frederick's uncompromising standards and
our commitment to carrying on his tradition of excellence,
on every job that is entrusted to us by our customers.
On
the company's 75th anniversary, Fred C. Christiansen,
the son of the company's founder wrote this
letter to his customers. Notice the "honor
roll" of companies served at that time,
many of them historical landmarks today.
